HTTP Request Inspector

Paste a request snippet to inspect its structure and export a redacted summary without sending it.

How this tool works

A request combines method, target, field lines, and optional body. Separating these parts helps diagnose routing, credentials, media type, and query construction errors.

Common HTTP/1-style snippets are supported; this is not a full wire parser and never executes or replays the request.

Examples

  • Inspect a POST request target.
  • Count repeated query parameters.
  • Redact an Authorization header before export.

Common use cases

Check a captured request's target and fields.

Worked synthetic example

Valid example

GET /orders HTTP/1.1 Host: example.test

Expected: GET method, /orders target, Host header. The inspector parses an HTTP/1-style snippet without replaying it.

Failure or warning to recognize

Warning / interpretation

GET /orders HTTP/1.1 with an unredacted Authorization value in a shared screenshot.

Expected: A malformed request line or field reports a parse error; a valid snippet can still contain credentials, so review screenshots and exports.
